“One would think that by the third baby we would know what we were doing in terms of sleep. We tiptoed and shushed our way through Child #1’s infancy... and toddlerhood, and lucked out with a self soothing rockstar sleeper with Child #2. When #3 decided to sleep through the night at 8 weeks, we high fived and toasted to our good luck. Alas, between sleep regressions and falling into bad habits (ours, not the baby’s), we were waking up 3 or 4 times a night to rock our very grumpy 8 month old back to sleep. He needed to be held. And he was waking up every morning at 5am. It was time for a change.

I described to Leigh what we were experiencing at night, and she enthusiastically assured me we could get to a better place. She approached our situation thoughtfully and practically. Knowing we have two older kids to think about as well, Leigh helped us get into a nap rhythm that fit right into our busy driving schedule. She took into account our family’s actual life and made recommendations from there.

She presented multiple options for how to go about “sleep training” and was always supportive of what we decided to try. Her gentle and encouraging reminders to be consistent and stay strong were everything we needed to be successful. When the first method we tried didn’t feel right and put all of us on edge, Leigh gave me the permission I didn’t know I needed to try another way. Glass of wine in hand, I settled down next to the monitor and texted her- “I think he’s going down!” Of course, being the sleep cheerleader she is, Leigh fully celebrated with me by texting a million hearts and party emojis. It took less than one week of consistently employing Leigh’s awesome methods and we now have a 9 month old who falls asleep by himself in less than 10 minutes, sleeps from 7pm to 6:30am without waking, and falls asleep on his own for naps.

I cannot recommend Leigh enough for all she does to guide parents trying to navigate their kids’ sleep journeys. She is knowledgeable, supportive, passionate, and brings a fabulous sense of humor to what can be an extremely stressful part of parenting.
