Hello - I am so happy you found The Sleep Spot! I am a mom of two, wife, and public health professional. I have a Masters in Education from the University of Minnesota and have worked for the last decade in public health, with a specialty in maternal and child, reproductive, and sexual health. Healthy babies, parents, and families are my passion. My husband is a Pediatric Cardiologist and serves patients throughout central and greater Minnesota. When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my kiddos, cooking, and instructing Pure Barre in the Twin Cities. I look forward to meeting you and working together!

My Journey to Starting The Sleep Spot

Like you, I started seeking information on sleep training after having my first baby and hitting a level exhaustion I had never before experienced. With the help of a friend, I started down the road to sleep training my son. Every day I am glad that we helped our son learn the foundations of healthy sleep. After seeing how much my son flourished on a good night’s sleep, and how happily my husband and I grew into our new roles as parents, I became obsessed with reading everything I could get my hands on to learn more about how to support babies get their best, healthiest rest.

Fast forward a few years, we welcomed our daughter and I felt confident and empowered to set the same foundation of healthy sleep for her. Along the way, I shared our success sleep training our children and soon began helping friends and colleagues through their own sleep training journeys. Helping other families reclaim predictable routines and better sleep brought me so much joy that I finally took the leap to start my own business.

My approach to sleep training is realistic, approachable, and most importantly individualized. All babies and parents are different, and what works for one family may not work for another. I believe in science and following biological rhythms and age-appropriate methods when helping children learn to fall asleep and stay asleep. After lots of research, I underwent training through a rigorous international sleep training program to further my understanding of child development and sleep, and am able to offer parents multiple choices in how to approach sleep training for their children. My public health background keeps me constantly learning and staying up-to-date with the latest books and resources around sleep training and all American Academy of Pediatric recommendations for safe sleep.
